Description

Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) is a university dedicated to research and training at the graduate level located in Quebec (Canada) where French is the official language. INRS has four research centers. A research team of the Centre Eau Terre Environnement is looking for a highly motivated and talented PhD student to undertake a project on developing novel biotechnology for treatment of xylene contaminated sites. Research is in the field of bioremediation and treatment of petroleum hydrocarbons contaminated sites. The project will be carried out at INRS in collaboration with an industrial partner.

Other Criteria

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must hold a MSc in organic chemistry, biotechnology, biochemistry, microbiology, or a combination (MSc and BSc) with good knowledge of organic chemistry. An experience in bioremediation and petroleum biodegradation will be highly considered. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are a must and knowledge of French is an asset.
